Bible Study: "Following Jesus, Becoming a Church"

Join us Monday nights for our newest and insightful bible study, "Into the Word, Into the World!"  In only four books of the Bible - Genesis, Exodus, Luke and Acts - Dr. Robert Ladner leads you through a fascinating exploration into biblical history, culture and theology.

Genesis-Exodus leads you through the traditional stories of the patriarchs and matriarchs of the Old Testament, the tribal conflicts,  the development of faith in One God, the theology of the Exodus and the Law. Luke-Acts leads you through the power of the Holy Spirit in the life of Jesus and the disciples, the growth of the early church with Peter and Paul, the familiar traditions and some unfamiliar stories.

Along the way, you will gain insights into how Holy Scripture has developed to answer the urgent questions of the Jewish and Christian faith communities, and find the passages and principles that strengthen your own faith walk.

 When:

Monday evenings | from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Women's Bible Study

Join us for another exciting and revealing bible study series, "Everybody's Normal Till You Get to Know Them" by John Ortberg.

Normal? Who’s Normal? Not you, that’s for sure! No one you’ve ever met, either. None of us are normal according to God’s definition, and the closer we get to each other, the plainer that becomes.

Yet for all our quirks, sins, and jagged edges, we need each other. Community is more than just a word—it is one of our most fundamental requirements. So how do flawed, abnormal people such as ourselves master the forces that can drive us apart and come together in the life-changing relationships God designed us for?

In Everybody’s Normal Till You Get to Know Them, teacher and best-selling author John Ortberg zooms in on the things that make community tick. In this bible study, you’ll get a thought-provoking look at God’s heart, at others, and at yourself. Even better, you’ll gain wisdom and tools for drawing closer to others in powerful, impactful ways. With humor, insight, and a gift for storytelling, Ortberg shows how community pays tremendous dividends in happiness, health, support, and growth. It’s where all of us weird, unwieldy people encounter God’s love in tangible ways and discover the transforming power of being loved, accepted, and valued just the way we are.

 When: Wednesdays, 9:15 a.m.
Where: Room 209 of the Hanger Building
