Announcing Our New Director of Operations, Corina Dekker
The First United Methodist Church of Coral Gables Staff Parish Relations Committee is pleased to announce the promotion of Corina Dekker, Director of The Growing Place, to Director of Operations. The Director of Operations is a newly created position which will have management responsibility for both The Growing Place (TGP) and operation of the church campus. After an extensive search, we are delighted that Corina has agreed to undertake this significant role in the life of our church community.
Well known to our congregation, Corina has done an amazing job as Director of The Growing Place for the last four years. Under Corina’s direction, TGP has grown to be one of the best early childhood centers in the area with a strong focus on Christian education. As TGP Director, she has restored the school to being a profitable and effective organization and has met or exceeded all her goals and objectives. More importantly, under Corina’s leadership, the school’s accreditation will be reinstated in the next couple of months. Corina is a superb administrator, a visionary leader, an excellent manager with a commitment to do all that she can to constantly improve our church community. Most importantly, Corina has a servant’s heart, always looking for ways to serve our local community and beyond. We are very excited to have Corina in this role as we continue to build on Pastor Phillip Short's enthusiastic vision for a loving congregation committed to service.
Please help us in welcoming Corina to her new position, and show her our full support with our prayers, our willingness to help and our kind words. She will be performing the transition tasks and receive training this coming week from our outgoing Church Administrator, Jill Sweet. They have worked well together and we are confident that this will be a smooth transition. This is a great opportunity for our church and we are elated that God has given us this chance to continue to make our church financially stable, efficient and able to serve the needs of our staff, parishioners and community.
May God bless all of you and thank you for your ongoing support.
